In the afternoon of December 28th, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology held the opening ceremony of Vietnam Master of Computer Science taught in English (VMCS) – Cohort 2023

Prof. Hoang Huu Hanh – Director of Center for International Education, PTIT and the leaders of functional departments of the PTIT
From the Viettel Corporation: Mr. Dang The Dung – Deputy Head of Political and Human Resources Department, Viettel International Global JSC. And especially the presence of 10 international students in the Vietnam Master of Computer Science program.
In the welcome speech of the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Tran Quang Anh emphasized that this is a program within the framework of cooperation between PTIT and Viettel Global. The program was built and implemented under the direction of the Ministry of Information and Communications. Besides, PTIT was assigned to implement cooperative activities with businesses, train and develop ICT human resources for countries in ASEAN and target markets.
Leaders of MIC and PTIT have expected that students would improve their knowledge and skills in the field of Computer Science. With the teaching mean in English, students can further develop their language and academic research abilities. At the same time, it is expected that students with awarded scholarships will have all the qualities and abilities of an international master’s program and be able to work in many different environments.
Also at this opening ceremony, Mr. Trieu Minh Long – Director General of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Information and Communications expressed his joy and welcomed all the students of the Vietnam Master of Computer Science program. The program not only provides learning opportunities for international students but it is also an important step in improving the quality of ICT human resources.
With special attention from the Ministry and PTIT leaders in the jubilant and exciting atmosphere of the ceremony, student Japhari Mbaru from Tanzania shared: “Before coming to Vietnam, I knew that PTIT is one of the prestigious schools with top quality ICT teaching in Vietnam. PTIT has trained many generations of students with good moral qualities and professional skills to serve society and the country. I hope that during my studies in Vietnam I will also receive valuable knowledge from the lecturers so that after graduation I can bring back that knowledge to serve my country – Tanzania.” At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to PTIT’s leaders, lecturers, and staff for dedicated help f. He promised to improve himself and be determined to overcome the initial difficulties when studying away from home, seize the opportunity and complete the assigned mission.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr Tu Minh Phuong and Asoc. Prof. Dr Dang Hoai Bac gave congratulations gifts to the students. Hopefully this will be a good start for students, and they will always be determined to complete the course tasks well and achieve the best learning results.
