Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology’s Delegation visits the University of Sydney, Australia (USYD)

The delegation from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), led by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, visited and had a meeting with University of Sydney in Australia on August 3, 2023.
The delegation had the presence of: Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac – President of PTIT; Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Vice President of PTIT; Assoc.Prof. Dr. Hoang Huu Hanh – Director of the Center for International Education; Mr. Doan Hieu – Director of Posts and Telecommunications Training Center I (PTTC1); Mr. Pham Vu Minh Tu – International Project & Program Development Manager – Center for International Education.
Representatives from the USYD welcomed the PTIT delegation, including: Dr. Jonathon Hutchinson – Chair of Discipline: Media and Communications; Darren Svanfelds – International Program Coordinator; Danielle Muir – Head of International Partnerships and Development; Jo Lllingsworth – International Program Coordinator.
During the presentation, Mr. Jonathon Hutchison introduced the University of Sydney’s Media and Communications Department, which offers various types of training programs such as Bachelor, Dual degrees, Honour, Postgraduate programs,… These areas include Media Production, Media Regulation & Policy, Journalism, Law and Ethics, Social Media & Web Design, Publishing,… The department also provides advanced study programs in Health Communication, Publishing, Media Practice, Digital Communication and Culture, and Public Relations. Mr. Hutchison noted the university’s excellent facilities supporting students’ learning. The Department currently has around 5,000 students, indicating its popularity among communication enthusiasts.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Huu Hanh introduced Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) and programs that PTIT are offering. In addition to technology majors, PTIT also focuses on training in multimedia fields. Among them, the Journalism and Multimedia Communication majorities stand out as it combines traditional journalism skills with the latest technological advances. In the next few years, PTIT intends to launch a Public Relations program in addition to the Journalism program.
During the working session, both parties highlighted opportunities for collaboration in the Bachelor of Media and Journalism Joint Training Programs. Two universities also investigated the possibility of exchanging students between the two universities for short-term periods of 3 to 6 months and coordinating future special programs for businesses.
