On December 6, 2023, CIE PTIT collaborated with the University of Canberra to organize a seminar with the topic “Digital Media: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” with sharing from the Head of School for Design and the Built Environment, University of Canberra, Australia.
During this seminar, Professor Sam Hinton discussed the stages involved in the development of digital media, the media landscape of the 4.0 era, and technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR). The professor specifically stated that artificial intelligence (AI) will not be able to fully replace human roles. The professor specifically stated that artificial intelligence, or AI, will not be able to fully replace human labor in creative endeavors in general and the media industry in particular.
Students raised a number of insightful questions regarding the lecture’s subject matter at the conclusion of seminar. The lecturer responded and went into further detail regarding the ways that journalism and communication have changed, how generations have accessed technology, and how media professionals have an obligation to adopt new technologies. Along with expressing interest, the students also thanked Professor Sam Hinton. They hope that there will be more engaging lectures in the future, enabling students to learn a great deal of practical information that is beneficial to the process of learning and research.
