On October 23, to extend the congratulations to our students who have successfully gained admission to the Class of 2023-2024, Center for International Education (CIE) organized the official opening ceremony for the Cohort III of the International Bachelor of Information Technology (2+2) Program between PTIT and LTU, marking the beginning of a remarkable academic experience for the freshmen.
On the PTIT’s side, the ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Vice President of PTIT; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Huu Hanh – Director of the Center for International Education; Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong – Dean of Faculty of Information Technology 1; Dr. Ngo Duc Thien – Head of the Department of Research Management and International Cooperation; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hue – Deputy Head of the Academic Affairs; Mr. Ngo Xuan Thanh – Deputy Head of the Educational Affairs; MSc. Pham Tran Cam Van – Center for International Education; MSc. Pham Vu Minh Tu – Center for International Education.
On La Trobe University’s side Professor Naveen Chilamkurti – Associate Dean, International Partnerships; School of Computing, Engineering & Mathematical Sciences (SCEMS); Dr Tommy Huynh – Senior Lecturer, SCEMS; Ms. Dung Pham – Representative of La Trobe Admissions in Vietnam
With the participations of Mr. Chinh Nguyen – Director of SET Education – Hanoi Office. Especially the presence of parents and students of the 2+2 Information Technology Bachelor Program 3rd cohort between PTIT and La Trobe University.
In the welcoming speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Vice President of PTIT congratulated the students who were admitted to the Joint Program and believed that this would be a good opportunity for them to develop themselves. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh also emphasized that developing international cooperation activities in research and training is a key spearhead in PTIT’s development strategy and the commencing ceremony of the training program marked a milestone for a fruitful collaboration between the two universities.
Professor Naveen Chilamkurti – Associate Dean, International Partnerships; SCEMS gave a speech about the cooperation activities between La Trobe University and PTIT, emphasizing the good achievement that the two universities gained. Professor Naveen congratulated the new students and hoped that they would always maintain their spirit to complete the course successfully as well as being able to accumulate a lot of knowledge and skills in phase 1 at PTIT, creating A solid “launching pad” for the second phase at La Trobe.
During the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the opening ceremony, with the special attention of the universities’ leaders, the student representative – Thai Ba Thanh also shared his excitement and eagerness. He thanked the lecturers of PTIT and La Trobe University for giving him and his fellows the opportunity to study abroad. Promising to try their best, the new students of the joint program are preparing for the transfer to La Trobe University.
The ceremony also had online participation from student Khuc Tuan Anh – student of the 1st cohort program who is currently studying 2nd phase at La Trobe University. Khuc Tuan Anh expressed his deep gratitude to the lecturers of both PTIT and La Trobe University for always accompanying him throughout his study process. In addition, he also shared and advised new students to have better understanding of the program and have solid preparations to continue studying for the next two years in Australia.
