Recently, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology received an invitation from Chung-Ang University (Korea) to send students to participate in the “Global Start-up Design Thinking Hackathon Day” competition from January 9 to January 12, 2024 in Korea.
This is a competition organized by Chung-Ang University to inspire creativity. “Global Start-up Design Thinking Hackathon Day 2024” gives students of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology the opportunity to test themselves and interact with young people from the “land of kimchi”. In particular, this event also promotes cooperation and inspires the entrepreneurial spirit among students around the world.
Participating students will have the opportunity to explore and receive guidance and support from immersive media startups, share knowledge, skills in developing business models, know-how in building and managing companies… Categories accepting startup applications include: Startup projects related to immersive media (XR, VR, AR, Metaverse, etc.) or media (Games, Video, Animation, Design, etc.)
The program will evaluate and select student startup projects that meet the criteria for commercialization potential. Selected projects will be provided and supported to facilitate development, including: connecting with expert networks, participating in in-depth training programs on XR, receiving professional advice. Thereby, the program aims to promote the development of products of student startup projects.

2. Student benefits when participating:
- All travel expenses (airfare, moving between locations in the competition) and living expenses are covered by the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Chung-Ang University.
- Interact and connect with students from other universities around the world and some Korean enterprises that support innovation.
3. Participants:
- Students majoring in Multimedia Technology and High-Quality Information Technology – Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.
4. Selection criteria:
- Cumulative GPA up to the end of Semester 1, academic year 2023-2024 from 3.0 or higher
- Have professional skills in Application Development, Design and Communication
- Have soft skills including communication and presentation skills, good leadership and teamwork skills, quick, confident, proactive and able to withstand pressure
- Good English 4 skills, especially communication, standard pronunciation (having English certificates such as IELTS, TOEIC is an advantage)
