On the afternoon of October 9, at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, the Center for International Education held a Seminar: “Cybersecurity in digital transformation: Opportunities and challenges”
The seminar was attended by: Professor Rupak Kharel – Head of Faculty of IT and Engineering, University of Huddersfield; Ms. Tram Nguyen – Representative of Huddersfield University in Vietnam. PTIT side attended by: Representatives of PTIT’s leaders; Assoc. Prof. Dr Hoang Huu Hanh – Director of the Center for International Education; MSc. Pham Vu Minh Tu – Center for International Education; Teachers from the Faculty of Information Technology and Faculty of Information Security
During the seminar, Prof. Rupak Kharel emphasized the importance of cybersecurity, which not only concerns information protection but also affects the stability of the entire economic and social system. Besides ensuring cybersecurity, digital transformation also brings many opportunities such as enhancing work efficiency and productivity through automation, improving customer experience with convenient online service systems, etc.
Besides, Prof. Rupak Kharel also shared about the challenges that cybersecurity faces during the digital transformation process. Most prominent is ensuring information security of data on digital platforms, when people’s personal information in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) applications such as: ChatGPT, Deepfake enhances the forms of cybercrime, fraud, cyberattacks… Therefore, it is necessary to apply high technology in ensuring cyber security.
At the end of the seminar, students asked questions and worked with the professor. Rupak Kharel discussed the opportunities and challenges of Cyber Security in today’s digital transformation environment. Representative of the Center for International Education, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Huu Hanh also gave a souvenir and sent his sincere thanks to Professor Rupak Kharel for sharing a lot of useful knowledge with students on this topic.
