In the meting, PTIT leadership presented remarkable achievements in the last academic year, after that, Minister Boviengkham Vongdara presided over discussions on research and training cooperation between PTIT and Laos, focusing on sharing experiences in research, training, and producing skilled professionals in the field of Information Technology and Communications, especially on improving the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate training. The H.E. Minister expressed his high appreciation for PTIT’s recent accomplishments and recognized the significant contributions to developing the ICT workforce for Laos. He also acknowledged the impact of PTIT graduates in the Lao PT&IT industry.
As part of their proposed cooperation plan for 2024, PTIT aims to continue supporting Laos PDR in providing professional training and HR development for lecturers and staff of the MTC. This will be achieved through organizing training courses directly in Laos or via video conferences. PTIT plans to develop short-term programs, including Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) with Lao subtitles, to assist Lao learners. Additionally, the Institute will facilitate video conferences to exchange teaching and program design experiences in areas where the MTC requires the assistance.
In the long term cooperation, PTIT will continue enrolling Lao students through scholarships from the Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam, as well as bilateral agreements and self-financing programs. Furthermore, PTIT intends to establish cooperation agreements with Lao universities to develop and implement joint undergraduate and postgraduate training initiatives.
The Institute will prioritize offering scholarships to Lao self-funded students studying at PTIT. PTIT leadership also proposes that the Lao MTC supports and collaborates with them in the enrollment process, including setting up a representative agency of PTIT’s Center for International Education in Laos.
